What Are We Planning in 2009?
The Choice Moms community benefits from the generous support of sponsors and advertisers who enable us to provide free and low-cost resources.
We carefully vet each potential candidate before entering into an agreement with them, and work only with companies that are singles- and lesbian-friendly. We recognize that affiliation with these organizations implies endorsement to the Choice Mom community, but we encourage all women to carefully consider the merits of any company before engaging in business with them.
Sponsors who have paid to support the Choice Moms community have a direct link to their own website listed wherever their name appears.
Starting in 2009 we have a schedule of monthly topics, and welcome partners to help fund these initiatives in text, audio and video form:
- January -- building a support network (featuring article by Jane Mattes, Single Mothers by Choice organization)
- February -- dating/building a relationship as a single mom
- March -- at-home insemination and known donors
- April -- family building with donor conception
- May -- relieving stress (including Mother's Day gift bags for new
members-only section) - June -- money matters (estate planning, budgeting, financial planning)
- July -- adoption
- August -- fertility
- September -- parenting over 40
- October -- childcare
- November -- talking to family and friends
- December -- raising strong children
In addition, we will be hosting Choice Mom networking events in Washington D.C. (spring 2009) and Chicago (May 2009). Other smaller workshops are also in the planning stages.
